I haven't updated in ages. Guess why I'm updating now - yes, LJ is down *lol*
I haven't had time for much non work related reading, but here's one I recently finished:
This wasn't a re-read, it was actually the first time that I read the complete book - well, I guess it's technically two books. I read bits and pieces here and there, but never the whole book. What got me interrested now was Tim Burton's plan for a movie and I couldn't quite get Tim Burton and my Disney based Alice image together - so I picked up the book.
Well, I totally fell in love with the language and the weird logic and the surealism of it all. And the image of Alice I got from the book is so different from the blond Disney girl and the whole world is so much darker and non-Disney too. I can see why Tim Burton is attracted to it and his version will probably be more true to the book than Disney's.
My copy is a nice hardcover edition which includes the illustrations by John Tenniel, I think it's out of print, because I couldn't find it in the list here.
